A Ton of Pork for Christmas ... On the Streets

Well…  “Christmas on the Streets” is gone for another year!!!  We hope and pray that the seeds planted will grow and give fruit in the future…  I had a phone call from someone who took the Christmas meal into jail to a group of 120 prisoners.  They had the opportunity to present the gospel of Christ’s love and sacrifice… and twenty people said that they believed that message for the first time… Pray for these and others who received a physical demonstration of God’s love in a special meal and gift, combined with hearing of God’s saving gift to us…

We’ve had several days to just sit back… sleep…eat… and do NOTHING!!!  …a needed and special treat after so much activity….  Let me take you through the last couple weeks.

This Morning Was Extremely Quiet

This morning was extremely quiet… You could hear the birds chirping happily outside… No traffic…  Peaceful…  Hmm…   …a deceiving calm…  Our country of Bolivia is in turmoil right now… and today most of the country decided to go on “strike” as a measure of resistance against what is happening.   …so today there is no traffic… no business…  everyone stays at home… “peace”!!!

A “nice” day for me…  A day to sleep in a little bit… relax a little bit… get caught up on lots of little things… …a “nice” day…

But what about the people who live from day to day????  …depending on what they sell each day to feed their children…  What are they going to eat today???  For them, today isn’t a “nice” day… it’s a day where their stomach is in knots… not only from hunger but from the worry of how they are going to make ends meet…

Change In Direction

We’ve had some really special times over the last couple months… filled with some major activities – participating in the international fair, our 7th anniversary, the end of our classes at El Jordán and graduation, and our exposition (where people come in and buy directly from our students). We’ve also had lots of visitors… Ben and Dorcas Sawatzky, Paul and Gillian Robinson, Arnold and Mary Ann Hicks, Uncle Norman and Nancy, Mike and Leann Dingman and Sandy and Susy Bell!!!  Thanks to each one of you for coming… sharing with us… and encouraging us!!!

Anyhow… this is what I stared writing almost 2 months ago…  Sorry!
